AoD 1.13 Changes, Updates, and Additions (completed)
• Options:
o Three additional end dates:
- 1928, for any modded or scenarios that begin before 1936 (e.g. WW1, Spanish-American War, Boer Wars, etc.)
- 1975, End of the Vietnam War
- 1989, December when President Reagan and General Secretary Gorbachev ended the Cold War
o Masters can build in puppets:
- On, allows the master country to build province structures in their puppet's provinces. Default value is On
- Off, can not build in puppet's provinces
o Allies can build in allies:
- On, allows allies to build province structures in their other ally provinces. Default value is Off
- Off, can not build in ally's provinces
• Relocate Capital - Players can now relocate their capital, with a right mouse button click, to any controlled province that has 20% or higher infrastructure
• Technologies have increase from 480 in 1.12 to 886 in 1.13:
o Technologies range from 1890 to 1976
o Infantry - Technologies have increased from 58 to 86
o Armor & Artillery - Technologies have increased from 68 to 98
o Naval - Technologies have increased from 60 to 87
o Aircraft - Technologies have increased from 51 to 95
o Industrial - Technologies have increased from 72 to 102
o Land Doctrine - Technologies have increased from 49 to 80
o Advanced Techs (pre-1.13 Secret screen) - Technologies have increased from 29 to 78
o Naval Doctrines - Technologies have increased from 51 to 94
o Air Doctrines - Technologies have increased from 48 to 88
o Support/Auxiliary, a new technology screen - Technologies have increased from N/A to 78
• 15 New Maneuver Units/Divisions:
o Marine Expeditionary Brigade - A maneuver brigade that can be loaded onto the new helicopter carriers in addition to the attack helicopter squadron.
o Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Aircraft - This is the new land based (air) unit comparable to the new ASW Aircraft (naval) attachment for aircraft carriers. Both the unit and attachment are researched on the same technologies. 3 models exist, 1954, 1960, & 1967.
o Air Assault Division - Similar to airborne units except they load onto helicopters. There are 3 models, 1950 Air Cavalry, 1955 & 1964 Air Assault divisions.
o Special Operational Forces - There are 7 models, 1940, 1943, 1945, 1948, 1952, 1957, & 1964
o Gunship Aircraft - There are 3 models, 1942 that replicate the Hs 129 B-3 and B-25G Mitchell, 1964 that replicate the Douglas AC-47 Spooky, and 1967 that replicates the AC-130.
o Observation Helicopter - There are 3 models, 1943, 1947, and 1966. To research these the 1923 Autogyro, 1936 Powered Gyro Rotors, and 1939 Experimental Helicopter technologymust be researched first.
o Cargo/Utility Helicopter - There are 3 models, 1948, 1953, 1962 and the 1947 Observation Helicopter technology must be research first.
o Attack Helicopter - There are 3 modles, 1948, 1961, 1966 1948 and the Cargo and Utility Helicopter technology must be research first.
o Cruiser Carrier - There are 4 models, 1933, 1934, 1942, and 1943. These replicate the Swedish HSwMS Gotland and the cruisers & battle cruisers that Japan removed their rear gun turrets for more than 2 sea planes.
o Helicopter Carriers - There are 3 models, 1955 (converted escort carrier), 1957 (converted 1941 full size carrier), and 1961 Landing Platform, Helicopter (LPH) ... helicopter carrier built from keel up.
o SSB Submarine - This is a diesel-electric ballistic missile submarine with 2 models, 1952 and 1958.
o SSBN Submarine - This is the nuclear ballistic missile submarine with 2 models, 1959 and 1962
o Heavy Aviation Cruiser - This is the Soviet's first "air carrier", the Kiev-class aircraft carrier that carrier helicopters and Yak-28 jump jets
o Heavy Submarine - Not so much as new but removed from the submarines and given their own file which allows a country to build submarines without having to build the 1930 and 1942 heavy submarines.
o Merchant Transports - These are civilian transports that can carry more weight (heavy type divisions) and a little bit faster than Troop Transports. Although they can heavy divisions than their comparable year Troop Transports, they can only transport units from one friendly port to another friendly port, no amphibious assault capability. There are 4 models, 1900, 1926, 1940, 1949.
• 12 New Brigades/Attachments & More Models:
o The game no longer uses any (b_u1.txt - b_u8.txt) of the user brigades slots, resulting in all 20 slot for users/modders to utilize.
o Cruiser Carrier CAG - These are the CAGs for the new Cruiser Carriers and there are 4 models, 1933, 1934, 1942, 1945 and are based on the number of sea planes they carry.
o Attack Helicopter Squadron - This is the attack helicopter squadron attachment to the helicopter carriers and has 3 models 1948, 1961, and 1966.
o Escort Carrier CAGs - Not a new attachment but one of the user brigades the game was utilizing. It now uses a non-user brigade file. These are the CAGs for all the escort carriers and there are 8 models, 1934, 1934, 1942, 1943, 1945, 1947, 1952, and 1958.
o Air to Ground Missile - These are the missiles that CAS, interceptors, and multi-role fighters can carry against ground targets. There are 3 models, 1943 (unguided), 1945 (HVAR), and 1951 (guided).
o Air to Air Missile - These are the missiles that CAS, interceptors, and multi-role fighters can carry against other aircraft. There are 3 models, 1944 (unguided), 1956 (infrared), and 1958 (radar guided).
o Rail Artillery - Not a new attachment but one of the user brigades the game was utilizing. It now uses a non-user brigade file. Rail artillery models have increased from 1 to 5, 1890, 1912, 1917, 1925, and 1937.
o Assault Gun - Not a new attachment but one of the user brigades the game was utilizing. It now uses a non-user brigade file. 3 models, 1938, 1940, 1941.
o Naval Camouflage - Not a new attachment but one of the user brigades the game was utilizing. It now uses a non-user brigade file. Naval camouflage models have increased from 2 to 3, 1910 (researchable under 1910 Fleet-in-Being Doctrine OR 1910 Indirect Approach Doctrine), 1930 (researchable under 1930 Squadron/Group Operations OR 1930 Floating Fortress Doctrine), 1940 (researchable under 1940 Naval Attrition Doctrine OR 1940 Massive Strike Doctrine) and all naval doctrine paths have the ability to research naval camouflage.
o Armored Brigade - There are light armored and heavy armored brigades in 1.12 and prior but no armored brigades. There is now a new armored brigade that are released buy just researching the armor/tank technologies. There are 8 models, 1936, 1938, 1941, 1943, 1945, 1947, 1951, 1954, and 1964.
o Trucks - Not a new attachment but one of the user brigades the game was utilizing. It now uses a non-user brigade file. When attached to infantry or marines, they can move as quickly as motorized units. Truck models have increased from 2 to 5, 1918, 1931, 1938, 1947, and 1963.
o Mechanized Upgrade - When a mechanized upgrade is attached to infantry it upgrades the division's statistics/power to the same year mechanized division. There are 4 models, 1945, 1947, 1951, and 1964.
o Heavy Aviation Cruiser CAG - This is the Heavy Aviation Cruiser's CAG and only 1 model exists, 1976.
o Naval Anti-Submarine Aircraft - This is the naval carrier based unit comparable to the new land based ASW Aircraft (air) unit. Both the unit and attachment are researched on the same technologies. 3 models exist, 1954, 1960, & 1967.
o Advanced Early Warning Aircraft (Air) - This is the land based air attachment that increases the air detection capability of the air unit. There are 4 models, 1945, 1954, 1958, and 1964.
o Advanced Early Warning Aircraft (Naval) - This is the carrier based attachment that increases the air detection capability of the carrier unit. There are 4 models, 1945, 1954, 1958, and 1964.
o Submarine Torpedoes - Submarines now are not lethal unless they have the submarine torpedo attachment. The game code has also been updated so when AI controlled countries build submarines, they build them always with this attachment. All torpedo technologies (subs, capital & screening ships) are now a separate technology research tree. All torpedo types have 10 models, 1904, 1912, 1915, 1927, 1931, 1941, 1943, 1948, 1955, and 1963.
o Torpedo Data Computer (TDC) - This is an attachment for all submarine types and is the onboard computer that computes a torpedo solution to target. There are 6 models, 1943, 1945, 1948, 1952, 1961, and 1964.
• No more researching two nuclear propulsion technologies (capital and screening).
• No more having your interceptors go through 2 additional upgrades (1941 Basic Rocket Interceptor & 1943 Improved Rocket Interceptor) between 1943 interceptor and 1944 TurboJet Interceptor.
• More models of all units. Models now range from 1890 to 1976.
• Land and Air units can now have more than 1 brigade/attachment and player configurable in the misc.txt file
• Increased technology screens from 10 to 12.
• Added a new technology research screen, Support & Auxiliary.
• Split the technology Overview screen into 2 screens:
o Statistics - Similar to the old Overview screen without any brigade or unit stats and increases the number of statistics from 55 to 107.
o Units - Contains all of the unit and brigade models in 3 columns with the first 2 columns organized by Army, Navy, and Air sections:
- Most Advanced Unit Models - List the latest aircraft, land divisions, and naval units researched
- Most Advanced Brigades Models - List the latest aircraft, land, and naval brigades researched
- the new Most Advance User Brigade Models - List the latest aircraft, land, and naval user defined (modded) brigades researched
• Added 5 new type of industrial modifiers. They do not add more resources to a province but make the specified resource produce more through efficiency:
o energy_modifier - command = { type = industrial_modifier which = energy_modifier value = 10 } increases the energy efficiency in all controlled provinces by 10%
o metal_modifier - command = { type = industrial_modifier which = metal_modifier value = 10 } increases the metal efficiency in all controlled provinces by 10%
o rare_modifier - command = { type = industrial_modifier which = rare_modifier value = 10 } increases the rare efficiency in all controlled provinces by 10%
o oil_modifier - command = { type = industrial_modifier which = oil_modifier value = 10 } increases the oil efficiency in all controlled provinces by 10%
o money_modifier - command = { type = industrial_modifier which = money_modifier value = 10 } increases the Daily Money, the monies received from industries, unused manpower, and trade by 10%
• Maximum number of nuclear reactors have increased from 10 to 16 through new research technologies.
• All types of armor can now do artillery missions, at a much lower effectiveness than artillery units.
• Multiple technology screen backgrounds players can choose from.
• updated, color if available, period ('30s-'40s) province pictures.
• Increase the number of models for all units, most have doubled in size.
• Airborne units can now be assign fuel and ammo for offensive operations. Previously when selecting an airborne division to load on a transport, so it could conduct an airborne assault, the button wasn't available.
• Fixed shift key bug where on some keyboards where the right (US) shift, or either (UK), shift key wouldn't capitalize the letter. Some had to use Cap Locks to get capital letters.
• Fixed issue where multiple brigades/attachments pictures would overlap each other and those overlap the ship or unit picture.
• Moved the unit's picture to the left and added room for the attachment's/brigade's icons on the right
• Fixed where certain brigade pictures were not showing up when selecting a brigade to build and no user defined brigades could not display any picture.
• Added brigade picture logic, for all brigades including user defined brigades, where if there is no brigade picture, it will display the brigades icon instead.
• Updated graphics throughout.
• Updated tech teams, ministers, and leaders files.
• Created a new ModSupport folder that has tools for modders:
o Updated id_ranges.csv file.
o Created the READ_ME_brigade_models.csv file that lists all brigades, the year of each model of the brigade, and the brigade number (so that custom pictures can be done).
o Created the READ_ME_division_models.csv file that lists all units, the year of each model of the unit, and the unit's number (so that custom pictures can be done).
o Updated AoD Editor that:
- allows creating technologies and their researchable components, requirements, effects, picture
- creating, editing, and deleted leaders or leader files
- creating, editing, and deleted ministers or minister files
- creating, editing, and deleted technology teams or technology team files
- edit province data
- creating, editing, and deleted unit models or unit files
- creating, editing, and deleted Corps names
- creating, editing, and deleted unit names

• Added new countries to support years 1890-1936 and 1946-1964. Specifically done for modders who want to do earlier than and later than WW2 scenarios or mods.
• Added special Administrative and Military Areas as puppets:
o They have no ability to research or produce any units.
o Although they have control of provinces, they have no cores resulting in higher revolts risks (that conquered territory would have).
• New and existing game variable/settings moved to the misc.txt so they can be user configurable.
• Ongoing - Countries with generic/user country tags have been converted to their own "logical" country tags (e.g. Kuwait - KWT, was U91)
